My Priorities
-
Student Success
Success looks different depending on what phase of schooling a student is in. For elementary schools, this includes closing achievement gaps. For our secondary students, we should be focused on helping them prepare for life post-graduation. This includes social emotional learning, incorporating life skills back into the curriculum and building out more career tech programs with community partners.
-
Accountability
We should be holding our leaders accountable for student success and staff retention. To be a top destination for parents and students, we require the most qualified educators in our buildings. We must give our hardworking educators and staff the leadership and resources required for achievement and success.
-
Transparency
There is a major disconnect between families, the community and district leaders. We need to put policies in place to make meetings more accessible and outreach more inclusive. Leaders cannot represent the people they do not know. We need to do a better job of seeking out partnership and collaboration.
